Element Name
Combination Code
Element Description
A Combination Codes (formerly known as Account Code) is used to point to a combination of field values that represent a unique accounting string.
Valid Values
These are unique to each campus. There is a standard scheme that is to be followed by the campuses so the combination codes are consistent.
Business Practices
The combination codes are created in Financials through the SpeedType functionality which then is sent to HRMS via application messaging. The chartfields used to create the combination code are Business Unit, Fund Code, Department, Project/Grant, Program Code, and Account. The business unit is abbreviated to 1 character. The fund code is 5 characters. The department is 4 characters. The project/grant is 10 characters. The program code is 5 characters but abbreviated to 4 due to the 25 character limit of the combination code. The account is abbreviated to 1 character.
